Privacy Policy

The short version

We don't have your WhatsApp messages. Messages are processed by AI in real time and immediately discarded. We never store, log, or retain your chat content. We collect basic account information to run the service, and we never sell or share your data with anyone.

WhatsApp message data

WhatsApp Summarizer is a desktop application that runs on your computer. By default, your WhatsApp messages are read locally on your device, sent to AI servers for summarization, and immediately discarded after processing. We do not store, log, index, or retain your WhatsApp messages, media, or voice notes at any point. We have no database of your conversations and no way to access them.

If you use your own LLM API key (Bring Your Own Key), your messages are sent directly from your device to your chosen AI provider and never pass through our servers at all.

Cloud mode

Cloud mode is an optional feature that lets you receive summaries even when your computer is off. When enabled, a separate WhatsApp linked device session runs on our secure cloud infrastructure. Messages are fetched, summarized, and delivered on schedule, then immediately discarded. No message content is stored at any point.

Your cloud session is encrypted at rest with AWS KMS and transmitted securely over HTTPS. You can disable cloud mode and remove your cloud session at any time from the app settings.

Account data we collect

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address
• Payment information (processed securely by our payment provider)

This information is used solely to operate the service, manage your subscription, and send you your daily summaries.

We never sell or share your data

Your data is yours. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. We do not use your data to train AI models. The only third parties who receive any data are our payment processor (to handle billing) and AI providers (to generate summaries, which are processed in real time with no retention).

Summary delivery

We deliver daily summaries via email, WhatsApp, or both, depending on your preference. Summaries are generated in real time and delivered to you. We do not keep copies of your summaries on our servers after delivery.

Cookies and analytics

Our marketing website uses Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with the site. The desktop app does not collect any usage analytics or telemetry.

Data security

Your credentials are stored in your operating system's secure keychain. All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS.

Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@wasummary.com. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed.

Changes to this policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will notify you by email. We will never weaken the privacy protections described here without your explicit consent.
